Hello Aviators!!
Have you ever been curious about the History of Aviation? I'm extremely sure that you have had that curiosity. So let's take a trip down the Memory lane of Aviation.
From the first ever basic man-made flying structure until the unmanned aircraft technologies, it's time to explore the aviation history. In this blog post we will explore the fascinating history of aviation, highlighting the key milestones and visionary individuals that have shaped the amazing field of aviation.
Aviation history is marked by extraordinary milestones since early years. The first milestone in aviation is the Invention of the Airplane. Orville Wright & Wilbur Wright commonly known as the Wright Brothers were the American aviation pioneers who have received the glory and pride of inventing and flying the world's first successful airplane. This pioneering aircraft was named as the "Wright Flyer" and was invented on the 17th of December, 1903 in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The Wright Flyer was made up of wood and fabric with a wingspan of 12.3 meters and it flew for 12 seconds covering 37 meters. This wonderful invention by the wright Brothers proved that human flight wasn't a dream, but a reality. Thereby, the Wright Flyer laid the foundation for the future of aviation.
Witnessing many rapid advancements and remarkable achievements, the 1920s & 1930s are known as the Golden Age of Aviation. In 1927, an American aviator and military officer named Charles Lindbergh made the First solo nonstop transatlantic flight from New York to Paris by his own airplane known as "The Spirit of St.Louis." This flight made Lindbergh an international hero and also showcased the potential for more safe and reliable long-distance air travel. Another courageous American aviator named Amelia Earhart became the First woman to fly solo across the Atlantic in 1932.
During the period of the World War II (1939 A.D. - 1945 A.D.) many significant technological advancements in aviation could be seen. The advancements in radar, jet engines and aerodynamics led to the improvement of jet-powered air crafts such as German Me 262 and British Gloster Meteor were done.
Next comes the Post-war Era A.K.A the Jet Age. The revolution of commercial aviation began with the Introduction of the Boeing 707, the commercially successful Jet Airliner in 1958. This jet age improvised global connectivity and opened doors for international travel.
